About the Helena Chapter

The ABATE of Montana Helena chapter is a not-for-profit, social membership-driven, organization dedicated to preserving motorcyclists' freedom of choice and freedom of the road. Our main goal is to promote motorcycle safety, awareness, training and protect the rights of motorcyclists everywhere.

Click here for the history of ABATE and how it all began back in June of 1971. The letters of ABATE originally stood for "A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian (i.e., strict control by coercive measures; completely regulated by the state) Enactments (i.e. to make (as a bill) into law)". Today our acryonym stands for "American Bikers Aimed Towards Education."
